Terms of Sale
These terms cover the sale of physical goods through this shop. They describe how an order is placed, what is charged for delivery and how payment works today.
Anything in square brackets is a placeholder. The software does not supply it, so it must be filled in and reviewed before launch.
Who you are buying from
The seller is [Company name - set before launch], whose registered address is [Registered address - set before launch]. You can reach the seller at [Contact email - set before launch]. These details identify the party you are contracting with and are not supplied by the shop software.
How an order is placed
Adding an item to the basket does not create a contract and does not reserve stock. The order is placed when you submit the checkout form: the shop records it with the state awaiting payment and gives you an order number. Submitting the form does not take any money. [Confirm the exact point at which the contract of sale is formed with counsel.]
Prices and currency
Each product is published with a price in a specific currency, and the shop prices your order from its own records rather than from a total calculated in your browser. Amounts are held as whole minor units - cents, for example - so a price is never rounded on screen. Whether those prices include value added tax, and at which rate, is a decision for the seller: [VAT treatment - set before launch]. This page states no tax treatment, because the shipped software performs no tax calculation.
Delivery terms
Delivery is chosen at checkout and priced by the shop's own delivery options, which this shop publishes before you place the order: standard delivery, express delivery and collection in person. Each option shows its cost and its estimated working days. An option that cannot carry the weight of your basket is not offered to you. If your subtotal reaches the shop's free-shipping threshold, the option you chose costs nothing and the form shows the saving. [Shipping destinations and delivery times - set before launch.]
Payment terms
As shipped, this shop takes no payments. The payment provider is disabled by default, so checkout ends at an order awaiting payment: no card details are collected and no money is taken. When the seller enables card payment, it is handled by Stripe and the card details are entered on Stripe's own interface, not stored by this shop; during setup the provider runs in test mode and no real money moves. [Accepted payment methods, when payment is taken and payment deadlines - set before launch.]
Changing your mind
If you are a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance sale without giving a reason. How to withdraw, how to return the goods and which exceptions apply are set out on the withdrawal page.
Governing law and disputes
[Governing law and the courts with jurisdiction - set before launch]. [State whether an alternative dispute resolution body is offered, and how to reach it.] Nothing in these terms removes a right that mandatory consumer law gives you in your country of residence.
